Hanson Memorial High School head coach Ryan Stoute and the Tigers hope they can build off a successful season in 2022 where they advanced to the second round of Division IV (Select) Playoffs.

“We have high expectations this season,” Stoute said. “This is the largest senior class we have had in 20 years for the football program as we will have 11 seniors in 2023.”

It has been so far so good for the Tigers as they have started the season 4-0 and have obliterated every one of their opponents.

The offense has some great players back and a lot of ability to put points up and they have in the first three weeks of the 2023 season. QB Ethan Judice (6-1, 175, Sr.) is a four-year starter and leader and has been the key to the 2023 season already. Judice is committed to Louisiana Tech for baseball. RB/MLB Carter Faucheux (6-1, 205, Sr.) gives the team power and quickness on both sides of the football, RB/SS Loren Wells (5-9, 170) is already averaging 142 yards a game in 2023 with 4.4 legit speed (10.8 in the 100 meters in Track), a big-time player for program and RB/SS/WR Connor Breaux (5-8, 165, Sr.) who makes plays on both sides of the ball as well.

The program has some more key players to watch in OLB Ethan Leblanc (6-1, 185, Sr.), an All-State punter who averaged over 45 yards per punt in 2022, OT/DE/DT Tanner Theriot (6-4, 225, Sr.) is averaging over 9 tackles a game in 2023, OT/DE Reid Lovell (6-0, 195, Sr.) was third in the state in the javelin, FB/LB John Uze (5-11, 185, Sr.), OT/DT Ethan Toups (6-2, 235), new starter C/DB Luke Miller (5-11, 185, Sr.), WR Andrew Burgess, a new starter, and new starting CB Trey Frost.

The last time the Tigers won a State Championship in football was in 1976. The last time the program advanced to the quarterfinals was in 2004 in football.
