2022 Playoffs: 1st Round Bye, Defeated Delhi 52-6 in 2nd Round, Defeated Logansport 47-6 in Quarterfianls, Defeated Mangham 38-18 in Semifinals, Lost to Oak Grove 17-0 in Division IV (Non-Select) State Championship

The Pelicans hope to make it to their third straight trip to the Superdome in new-orleans after winning the Class 1A State Title and finishing as state runner-ups last season for Division IV (Non-Select). What Homer head coach Richie Casey has accomplished in a short time at Homer is truly amazing and the expectations are high once again.

“ There are a lot of young talented players that need experience,” Casey said. “We have the talent to win a State Title again, once these kids get experience for the first three or four games in 2023.”

The Pelicans will have a new starting QB in Zyan Warren (5-10, 230) but he has playing experience as a defensive tackle in 2022. Warren converted to quarterback in the spring for the team and has been impressive so far as he has 460 passing yards and seven touchdowns through three games, all of them

being victories. Warren will have three big-time receivers to throw to WR/FS Jamaquese Hampton (5-11, 195) who is a big-time player for the program, WR/FS Kateverick Banks (6-3, 180), OT/DE Jaylan Franklin (6-3, 250), three-year starter WR/CB Brandon Williams (5-8, 145), OL/DL Gage Shephard (6-3, 280) and LB Tymarron Knowles (6-1, 205). The program also returns talented Gregory Williams LB/RB 600 yards rushing in 2022 with 4.5 speed, LB/RB Jaurmarion Pickins 5-10 170 4.6 speed, OC/DT Jeremiah Critton (5-11, 255, Sr.), WR/CB Spencer Dunn (4.6 speed), and a few young players starting like coach said fr the first time to build back the depth for the program.

The program had a few players decide to sign to continue their football careers at the next level: ATH Brendon Harris (Northwestern State), (OL/DT Davion Champ (Junior ), Athlete Camron Winzer (Sterling -Kansas) and LB Walteze Champ (Texas Southern).
