Huntington High School head coach Stephen Dennis built this program from the ground up and needs to be commended for an incredible job and his staff with the Huntington football program.
“We now have 150 players in the program and we had 30 players in the program when I got the job six years ago.Looking forward to another great year,” Dennis said. “The offensive line will be the best I’ve had since I’ve been the head coach at Huntington High School. We will still have our spread offense but also run some power balanced in 2023.”
The offense will build around the offensive line. The line is very talented led by a three-year starter in senior Zachary Singleton (6-2, 285), senior OG Quantavious Bradford (6-1, 310) and OG Royuan Jackson (6-4, 315). There will be a few players rounding out a spot which will have as many as eight players that could start during the season. The run game will have as much power as any team in Class 4A as it is led by RB Michael Casey (6-2, 235) who is a three-year starter power tough and strong, RB/WR/QB Jamarion Washington (4.45), RB Nyles Hullaby (6-0, 225) and RB Kamron Davis (6-0, 215) to make one heck of a group. The passing game has a new quarterback in Lorenzo White Jr., who played a lot in Week 8 in 2022 because of an injury to the starter and did great. He will have a few talented wide receivers to throw to WR Preston Summage (6-0, 170, 4.5 speed), WR/CB Kaleb Tucker (6-2, 185, 4.45) and another big-time playmaker that Washington can throw to in WR/DB Tyler Welch (6-1, 185, 4.5 speed).

The defense will be led by their tough big linebackers three-year starter Michael Casey (6-2, 235), DE/OLB Nehemiah Barrett (6-2, 235), All-District senior DE/OLB Derrick Edwards (6-1, 195) lead the team in tackles in 2022. The defensive line is also huge and looks like a DL. They are led by four-year starter senior DT Bryan Rodriquez (6-0, 300), DT/NG Hakeem Norman (6-4, 310) and a few younger big guys rotating in. The defensive backfield will be as talented as any in the city of Shreveport led by FS Joemiah Robinson (6-0, 185, 4.5 speed), DB Tyler Welch, CB Kaleb Tucker, CB Kaxavian Cowthorn and DB Kerian Anderson. There will be others rotating in.
