John Ehret High School head coach Reggie Rogers is the most underrated coach in the new-orleans area in my opinion. I believe if this team can hold up staying healthy come playoff time they might shock everyone and play for all the marbles as a sleeper team. This team has incredible talent but depth will be an issue as the season goes on.
“This is a good group of kids as this is the same group of kids that were freshman when I came in my first year as the head coach, so we have all been together now for four years as a team,” Coach Rogers said.
The Patriots record is 2-3 on the season. I think the team will get better from the tough non-district schedule. The three losses are to defending Division I (Select) state champion Destrehan, a good Covington team and new-orleans power Warren Easton.
I had a chance to see this team play against Destrehan this year and was impressed by the talent and the potential of this team. If they can stay healthy come playoff time it's not a team I would want to play.
The offense has some special players and has one of the best backfields in the State of Louisiana. They have an incredible athlete at quarterback in Eric Cheneau (6-1, 180, Sr.) who has a great arm and has the speed to run if needed. Cheneau has thrown for over 500 yards and six touchdowns on the year.
The wide receiver position might be the best for any school in Louisiana I have seen this year as they have speedsters in Charles Coleman (5-9, 170), WR Raymond Lain (6-1, 175) has big-time talent and Helen Cox High School transfer WR Darnell O’ Quinn (6-1, 180 who I think the biggest sleeper in the state of Louisiana at wide receiver. Quinn has incredible speed and smoothness in his cuts. You also have two-way starter WR/CB Wardell Mack (6-1, 175, Sr.) who is one of the top 10 players in the state who can do it all. You will also see WR Jamyron Fazande (5-7, 150) get reps too.

The running back spot has a big-time player in Damian Smith (5-8, 185), RB Chad Jackson (5-6, 170) and Darius Smith (5-7, 160) will get reps as well.
The offensive line is huge and mobile. The leader of the offensive line is four-year starter Khayree Lee (6-5, 332) with nimble feet and is one of the best in the state at his position, Chase Jones (6-5, 300), Davion Robertson (6-0, 285), Christian Williams (6-5, 310), Ben Wren and Corey Dudley 6-3 285.
The defense has talent and it has arguably the best defensive backfield in the state of Louisiana. It is led by two incredible cornerbacks Wardell Mack and Armani Cargo (5-11, 170, Sr.) who ran a 10.45 in the 100 meters and won State in the 200 meters in track. The defensive backfield also includes Jeremiah Clark (5-11, 170) who is a sleeper recruit, DB Jaden Williamson (6-1, 175) and DB Kurtis Milburn (5-9, 165). The front seven includes LB Vincent Riggins a Transfer from West Jefferson High School for his senior year (5-10, 210) who is a tackling machine, LB Jashad Johnson (6-1, 215) who is a very talented player, DT Amon Gill (6-0, 270) with quickness sleeper tough as nails and sleeper recruit DE Kendall Johnson (6-2, 225).
The special teams unit has a big-time kicker in Edis Chavez (5-9, 155, Sr.) who can kick them from 45 yards out. The return game has two of the best in the country, Wardell Mack and Charles Coleman.
