2023 Louisiana Prep Football Preview: Jonesboro-Hodge High School

Head Coach: Terrance Blankenship (12th year)

2022 Record: 3-7

Class & District: Class 2A (District 3)

Although Jonesboro-Hodge will be young this seasonl, the team does return four kids with three years of starting experience each coming back in TE/FS Symeon Malone (6-2, 180, Sr.), OT/DT Quirese Howard (6-3, 270, Sr.), OT/DT Braylon Leonard (5-10, 245, Sr.), and WR/CB D’Marrian Thompson. The offense will have second-year starter QB Dakota Knox (5-9, 160), WR Zmaryion Palmer, WR/DB Christian McGuire (5-9, 150), TE Skylor Strickland (6-4, 210), RB/LB Landon Boston and new starter WR DeMarious Burns (6-4, 185, Sr.). The offensive line also returns C/LB Marquis Baker (6-0, 190), OG Noah Lucas (5-11, 245, Sr.) and OG/DT Eric Hudson (5-11, 295, Sr.).

The defense has more two-way starters back in CB/WR Jaylin Barnes (5-10, 170) and CB/WR Jorden Dill (5-10, 160, Sr.).

Head coach Terrance Blankenship has done a great job with the Tigers program. Not only is Coach Blankenship in his 12th year as head coach for Jonesboro Hodge, but this season will be his 23rd year coaching overall. The future is bright moving forward with a few younger players getting experience.

The Tigers have a 2-3 record and will begin district play this upcoming week.
