“The program was 2-7 in 2021 and 0-9 in 2022,” said Morgan City assistant coach Hunter Perrin. “However, we have the lineman and size to compete. We just need to find some depth and stay healthy moving forward. I think we have a chance to make a big improvement and I think we can win five or six games in 2023. We are changing the culture and the program has been in a lot of close games. We played a lot of freshmen in 2022, which will help us moving forward too. The kids are hungry to change and win games moving forward.”

A lot of players will start both sides of the football for the Tigers in 2023.One of the few players who will just start one position will be three-year starter QB Thomas Mancuso (6-1, 210) who is a leader and is a three-sport athlete for the Tigers. The special teams unit has a pretty good player back in Jairo Gomez with a strong leg and who can both kick and punt.
Coach Perrin went to Hahnville High School (Class of 2013). From there, Perrin played football at both Northwestern State & Nicholls State where he was an offensive lineman at 6-2, 300 pounds when he was playing.
