Team Outlook: “Offense has a chance to be pretty good. Biggest senior class i’ve had at Booker T. Washington HS. Overall Defense improved but get better over the Summer big for us do little things right through reps we will be fine in the end,” said coach Reese.

The 2024 schedule is strong just like the 2023 schedule with teams like Kennedy, MCD 35, Covington, Lafayette Christian, De La Salle, and Hahnville WOW. The program will be just as good I think with a new starting QB for the first time in 3 years Corey McTraney (5-10, 180) lettered and got a lot of experience in 2023 ready to go to lead the team. This will still be a fast team and skilled lead by RB Demico Barnes (5-9, 185) SR ran for over 1,000 yards All District in 2023. Barnes is the kind of player that can carry you into the playoffs. The Offense also has RB/WR Ryan Bailey a new starter 4.6 speed, WR/CB Teshaun Smith (5-8, 185) SR a big time Offensive & Defensive player for the team, WR/DB Jamiante Barnes (5-10, 170) SR All District in 2023 had 3 interceptions in the Spring game, WR/DB Chaz Webb (5-9, 165) SR, WR Cameron Banks (6-3, 175) SR, 4 year starter leader Larry Smith (5-10, 210) SR also a big time LB for the Defense and WR/DB Kerwin LaFrance (5-9, 170) SR. Team Outlook: “Spring went well. We know who our starters are. Defense much improved. A lot skill guys back on Offense. Just get better replace the whole Offensive Line,” said coach Jarrott.

A lot of talent has come out of the program the last 6 to 7 years and theres still a lot of talent at the school. The coaches do a great job developing the kids through the weight room and coaching. Lets talk about the strongest post on the team the Offensive Line with 5 players back with experience players like 3 year starter OT Ian Fields II (6-3, 260), OG Gerald Daniels (6-0, 285), OG Cedrick McDonald (6-0, 265), OC/OT Logan Ferrer (6-0, 235), TE/FB Kellan Thomas (6-1, 220, and OG/OT Shamar Bridges (6-2, 290). Thats a tough strong OL to give this team a chance to go deep in the playoffs. The QB spot will return a leader in Evan Arceneaux a 3 year starter with size (6-2, 215) and good feet in the pocket can run when needed. Arceneaux threw for 1,900 yards and made All District in 2023. THe run game has options with RB Robert Lewis (5-10, 187) tough high IQ of the game 4.6 speed, RB Evmon Williams has 4.5 speed, and RB Charles Irving (5-7, 165) but fast 4.5 and quick. The WR spot will also have depth lead by WR Ronald Cash (5-11, 160) 2nd year starter 4.45 speed playmaker, WR Conner Butler a SR 2nd year starter best all around WR for the team, WR/CB Devan Barbarin Jr plays both sides of the football another 2 way player in WR/CB Malik Cornelios (5-8, 165), WR Garen Andrew Lewis, and WR Giovoni Sanchez. The Defense front seven lost some special players to graduation but return enough talent to be just as good as a group in 2024 lead by DT Jaiden Elly (5-11, 265) Benches 325 pounds and Squats over 550 in the weight room tough leader glue to the front. Theres also 3 year starter DE Jackson Nicholas Perdue another leader returning starter (6-1, 225) SR all out player, DT Amir Thomas (5-9, 200) quick fast, DT/DE Johnathan Saul new starter (6-1, 220), DE/OLB Jayden Pollard (6-0, 210) can rush the passer play the run gifted player, and DT Benjamin Paul (6-4, 265). Key Linebackers and Defensive Backs you have MLB Drew Robert Johnson (5-9, 185) with 4.66 speed, Ronyell Elzie (6-1, 210) a big time talent for the team with the ability to lead the team in tackles in 2024, LB Mark Caliste Jr, SS Sam Richardson (6-0, 185) tough kid, DB Brenden Guidroz (6-0, 165) new starter missed 2023 season with injury great Athlete, FS Malachi Jackson (5-10, 165) a new starter lettered in 2023, and big time DI player DB can play anywhere in the Secondary for the team Montez Randall (5-11, 170) 70 tackles in 2023 with 1 interception, 8 passes defended and several hits to remember. Randall is one of the top Defensive Backs in New Orleans as a 4 year starter. Special Teams at Punter you have Noah Zackery Rogers (6-0, 170) also a Tight End and backup QB for the program very Athletic and a weapon for the team as a Punter.

The good news is coming off of one of the best seasons ever for the program the Offense will still be one of the best in Louisiana and New Orleans. The starting QB returns in A’Myne Darensbourg (6-2, 180) SR had a great year in 2023 with 937 yards passing 13 Touchdowns with 65/110 in completions and ran for 113 yards with 2 Touchdowns in a balanced Offense in 2023. You will not see any program in Louisiana return 3 better skill players around there QB better than RB Omarion Brown 3 year starter (5-6, 185) Benches 300, Squats 500 pounds in the weight room and the kind of guy you get out of the way when hes running down hill, WR James Evans (5-9, 165) 4.5 speed had 10 Touchdowns on Punt Returns in 2023, WR Johnathan Strowder (5-7, 165) has 4.4 speed and can go, and then theres WR Kingston Jones (6-1, 175) 4.34 speed SR. Theres more talented skill players in RB Kenneth Chelsea III, WR Nahun Lalin, and several talented younger players competing for reps. The Offense will have a new starter at QB but a kid who played alot in 2023 Courtney Tennessee (5-8, 180) good arm and mobile.
