Every college football team is on the lookout for a tall, athletic tight end. Today, we highlight a sleeper prospect in Louisiana who has the potential to blossom in college: Andrew Hoff, a senior from the Class of 2025 at Pope John Paul II High School in Slidell, Louisiana.

I had the opportunity to watch Andrew Hoff play in person this year. Standing at an impressive 6'5" and weighing 215 pounds, he has plenty of room to grow in strength and size. Andrew has good hands, runs well, and is just beginning to develop his football skills. In 2024, he recorded 22 receptions for 515 yards and 5 touchdowns. On defense, playing safety, he added 2 interceptions to his stat line.

Andrew is a three-sport athlete who excels in football, basketball, and baseball. Despite this being only his second year of playing football, he is already a three-year letterman in both basketball and baseball. He possesses excellent ball skills and an impressive catch radius. Some of the catches he made during games and practices this season have been nothing short of remarkable.

According to offensive line coach Artie Liuzza, "Andrew is extremely coachable and a very hard worker. If there is one area he could continue to improve on, it would be his blocking skills. While he performed well as a blocker this season, it's an aspect that requires more focus, especially for a player in only his second year of football. Andrew has tremendous upside, with great size and the ability to catch anything thrown his way."

Andrew shared, "My sophomore year of football was cut short after I shattered my wrist halfway through the season. A few days after getting my cast put on, I started training with Coach Alan Miller at Core Performance Academy to prepare for basketball. I got my cast off just a week before basketball season began, and I was in shape and ready to play."

Andrew added, "After a great sophomore basketball season at 6'3", I decided to focus on basketball and skipped my junior football season. That year became my breakout season in basketball—I earned All-District, All-Parish, honorable mention All-State, and scored 650 points. Following basketball, my junior baseball season was also highly successful, with a .370 batting average during the regular season and earning All-District honors."

Now standing at 6'5" and 215 pounds, Andrew decided to return to football for his senior year while continuing to play all three sports. "Now that football is over, I’m excited for basketball season, which starts in the first week of December. In baseball, I play third base and pitch, and I’m currently working with a pitching coach to prepare for my senior season," Andrew said.

Andrew has always admired LSU. "My favorite college has always been LSU. My father played baseball for two years at St. Pete Junior College and one year at the University of New Orleans, which is how he ended up in Louisiana. My dad is originally from Florida. My older brother, Travis Hoff Jr., was an All-District football and baseball player for Pope John Paul II High School."

Andrew remains open-minded about his future. "I’m keeping my options open as I’ve been in contact with several college coaches for all three sports. My goal for my senior year is to have fun and enjoy playing football, basketball, and baseball. Football has been a great start, and I’m looking forward to excelling in basketball and baseball again this year," Andrew concluded.
