Trevontae “Trevy” Williams

School: South Plaquemines High School, Class of 2025
One of the top sleeper football players in Louisiana is Trevontae Williams of South Plaquemines High School. A versatile athlete, Trevontae played RB, DL, OL, and LB, doing everything in his power to help his team win a state championship. On offense, Trevontae scored four rushing touchdowns, while on defense, he put up some incredible stats in one season: 101 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 17 quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles, two blocked punts, and one pass deflection.
I watched Trevontae play in 2023 and was blown away by his relentless effort—he goes full throttle on every play. At a solid 6’1”, 245 pounds, with 4.7-second speed in the 40-yard dash, Trevontae has the size and athleticism to compete at the next level. His senior year showcased even more growth and intensity. This is a player who could thrive as an MLB in IAA or DI football, or potentially excel as an RB, FB, or even DE at a smaller school. Trevontae is fast, tough, smart, and intense. If I were a college coach, I would have signed him yesterday. Remarkably, he is still uncommitted to a college program.
In the state title game against a strong Haynesville High School team, Trevontae dominated on both sides of the ball. I had the chance to interview him over the summer for our YouTube show, The Sports Scouting Report, and I was impressed by his maturity and dedication to his team, coaches, and teammates—qualities that are rare in high school athletes his age.
“Adversity introduces you to the warrior within the battle,” said South Plaquemines assistant coach Michael Powell. “Trevontae is the true definition of a warrior. He’s ambitious, adaptable, and athletic. He plays with passion, intelligence, and aggression. He is a player who does whatever is best for the team.”
Trevy’s athleticism speaks for itself. Standing 6’1” and weighing 245 pounds, he combines strength and speed with a hybrid skill set. He plays OL, DL, and some LB, making the transition to running back a natural decision. Trevontae even has experience playing RB from his Pop Warner days. On the collegiate level, I see him excelling more in a defensive role, transitioning from defensive tackle to MLB. He will be a tremendous asset to any college program, bringing passion, perseverance, and production.
Coaching Trevy has been fulfilling and exciting due to his warrior mentality. He is an aggressive, play-through-the-whistle type of defensive player. His level of grit and his fear of losing—greater than his desire to win—are what fuel his impressive production. Trevontae is undeniably a next-level player, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for him,” added Coach Michael Powell.
“When I was a little kid, I started playing running back,” Trevontae said. “When I did an interview with you over the summer for your TV show (The Sports Scouting Report), I told y’all I could help the team at that position. My coach must’ve taken that into consideration, and from there, all I had to do was produce.”
Reflecting on winning the state championship, Trevontae said: “It feels amazing to hold the State Championship trophy, knowing it’s something I worked harder than ever for. It feels truly deserved.”
As for recruiting, Trevontae shared: “I have an offer from Graceland University and am currently talking to Texas College in Tyler, Texas.”
