Recruit Video Interview: Arkansas LB Signee Kelin Burrle, Helen Cox High School

We have finished our 23rd annual magazine cover shoot, but this year marked the third straight year in which we have conducted both a North and South photo shoot. This year, we shot the North photo shoot at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches and we shot the South photo shoot at Catholic High School in baton-rouge. Both events were really successful, and we would like to thank everybody who has helped us make both events so special for the players that were involved. Besides taking the photos, Louisiana Football Magazine’s owner Lee Brecheen and editor Jace LeJeune got the chance to talk to some of the top Class of 2020 players in the state of the Louisiana. Both Brecheen and LeJeune talked to the recruits about their top schools, goals for the upcoming season, hobbies, and so much more. For the next couple of months, we will post these video interviews that were taken at both photoshoot events.

In today’s recruit interview, we go to Catholic High School where Jace LeJeune caught up with Helen Cox High School senior outside linebacker and Arkansas signee Kelin Burrle before the start of the season when he was committed to UTSA!

Kelin Burrle: The new-orleans area has been a hotbed for Arkansas in terms of recruiting linebackers. The Razorbacks have been near the bottom of the SEC, but some of the bright spots have been at the linebacker position with former John Ehret linebacker De'Jon Harris becoming an All-SEC player for the Razorbacks. Helen Cox High School senior linebacker Kelin Burrle has the chance to become the next great linebacker to play at Arkansas from the boot. At 5-11, 215 pounds, Burrle is not afraid to hit anybody and at the same time, can fly to the football with incredible 4.5/40 speed. As a junior, Burrle patted up the stat sheet with 117 tackles and five interceptions to go along with it. Throughout his prep career, the three star linebacker has been a four year varsity letter winner and has helped his team make the playoffs in two of the last three years of his high school career. Before the start of the season when Burrle was interviewed at the South Magazine photoshoot, the 1st Team All-South Louisiana selection was committed to the UTSA Roadrunners. However, when head coach Frank Wilson was relieved of his duties at the end of the season, Burrle announced his de-commitment. 16 days later, the Helen Cox veteran linebacker decided to announce his commitment on the first National Signing Day period. There, he decided to sign with the Arkansas Razorbacks. In the end, Burrle chose Arkansas over Kentucky, LSU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, West Virginia, and others. For new head coach Sam Pittman, Burrle could be a big piece for the revamped program to build around.
