Recruit Video Interview: Montgomery High School Recruits

We have finished our 23rd annual magazine cover shoot, but this year marked the third straight year in which we have conducted both a North and South photo shoot. This year, we shot the North photo shoot at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches and we shot the South photo shoot at Catholic High School in baton-rouge. Both events were really successful, and we would like to thank everybody who has helped us make both events so special for the players that were involved. Besides taking the photos, Louisiana Football Magazine’s owner Lee Brecheen and editor Jace LeJeune got the chance to talk to some of the top Class of 2020 players in the state of the Louisiana. Both Brecheen and LeJeune talked to the recruits about their top schools, goals for the upcoming season, hobbies, and so much more. In today’s recruit interview, we go to Northwestern State University where Lee Brecheen caught up with some Montgomery High School senior recruits before the start of this past season!

Montgomery High School Recruits: Going back to the last five seasons, the Montgomery Tigers have been one of the most consistent teams in CenLa winning at least seven games a season under longtime head coach Brian Williams. 2019 proved to be one of the best seasons for the Tigers as the team won eight games including a 44-0 Class 1A playoff victory over the Block Bears. Two of the key pieces last season were two way starters Kyland Nash and Aydan Jackson. At 6-1, 210 pounds, Nash was one of the most versatile playmakers playing all over the field whether it has been running back, wide receiver, tight end, defensive end, or linebacker. As Nash got more of the notoriety, Jackson was one of the team's reliable seniors doing the dirty work as a blocker, a defender, and even a punter at 6-1, 220 pounds. Both Jackson and Nash's unselfishness and competitive attitude really helped set the tone for the Tigers' impressive 2019 season.
