We have finished our 23rd annual magazine cover shoot, but this year marked the third straight year in which we have conducted both a North and South photo shoot. This year, we shot the North photo shoot at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches and we shot the South photo shoot at Catholic High School in baton-rouge. Both events were really successful, and we would like to thank everybody who has helped us make both events so special for the players that were involved. Besides taking the photos, Louisiana Football Magazine’s owner Lee Brecheen and editor Jace LeJeune got the chance to talk to some of the top Class of 2020 players in the state of the Louisiana. Both Brecheen and LeJeune talked to the recruits about their top schools, goals for the upcoming season, hobbies, and so much more. For the next couple of months, we will post these video interviews that were taken at both photoshoot events. We have finished our 23rd annual magazine cover shoot, but this year marked the third straight year in which we have conducted both a North and South photo shoot. In today’s recruit interview, we go to Northwestern State University where Lee Brecheen caught up with some North Webster High School senior recruits before the start of this past season!

North Webster High School: North Webster High School in Springfield is known for producing some of the biggest names in Louisiana football such as Texas A&M Heisman Trophy winner John David Crow, Kansas Chiefs running back Charcandrick West, and most currently, former LSU and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Devin White. Not only has the program produced great players, but it has also produced plenty of competitive teams under current head coach John Ware. Last season may not have been the best year in terms of wins and losses as the Knights finished with a 4-7 record, but what can be said about last year's team is that they gave it all until the final whistle. There may not be any Devin Whites on this year's team, but there are some talented seniors from the 2020 class. In fact, Scottie Johnson is one of the most versatile senior athletes in North Louisiana. According to Louisiana Football Magazine's recruiting expert Lee Brecheen, Johnson is so good that he even put him on Tiger Rag's Dirty Dozen along with also being on the front cover of the North Louisiana magazine and on the 1st Team All-North Louisiana preseason team before the season!

"Scottie Johnson goes to the same school that Devin White (North Webster/LSU/Tampa Bay Buccaneers) played at," Brecheen said. "I watched him play eight full games while making highlights for some of his other teammates. This kid is an extraordinary talent and I don’t know why he is not a highly ranked national recruit. He is the best free safety that I have seen in five years plus he looks like one of the best receivers in the state. He is 6-1, 190 pounds with 4.6/40 speed. Someone is getting a phenomenal player."

It is still a mystery as Johnson has not received any offers, but like the greats that have gone before him, has the potential to play for someone in the end. Also, there is Chance Lewis, who is another two way player for the Knights playing both fullback and linebacker. At 5-11, 185 pounds, Lewis may not be the biggest or strongest, but what he does have is quickness and a high football I.Q. Both players have an unselfish attitude, and are athletic enough to play for a lot of schools.
