Recruiting Spotlight: RB, Dyson Fields, Ruston High School

One could say that Ruston High School football produces several athletes that go on to play at the next level, which is definitely the case for Running Back Dyson Fields. Fields has already received an offer from Southern Arkansas and has been talking to coaches from Centenary , Grambling State, Louisiana Christian , Louisiana Tech and Northwestern State.
Fields is 5’10, 190 pounds and an all around great athlete. Not only is he a football superstar, but also a talented baseball player. Athletic talent runs in the family as his dad Derek Fields played football at Arkansas Monticello, and his cousin Marquise Cooper played in the minor leagues for baseball.
When asked his favorite hobbies, Fields said he loves working out and spending time with his family and friends. Working out in his free time is paying off as he benches 225 pounds, squats 345 pounds and cleans 215 pounds.
In the 2021 season, Fields ran for 2,231 yards, made 30 touchdowns and made 340 carry attempts. His stamina and balance is what sets him apart from his competitors. His highlight video shows his incredible strength and that even when he gets hit, he stands right back up and finishes the play out.
Fields attended camps at Southern Methodist University and Grambling State this summer. His favorite s are Alabama, Ole Miss, University of Texas and LSU because they “all run the ball a lot and have a great history of RB’s,” said Fields.
Last season, Fields was offensive MVP for district 2 and it would be no shock for a repeat this year. Ruston High School is lucky to have Fields and whichever he commits to will be too. He’s ready for the 2023 season and is excited for the “pretty strong schedule.”
