The Sports Scouting Report Podcast With Lee Brecheen Episode 52: Former ASA Brooklyn Junior Football Coach Dennis Orlando

by Jace LeJeune

For Friday’s episode of the Sports Scouting Report, Lee interviews longtime and former ASA Brooklyn Junior defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator Dennis Orlando. Coach Orlando and his son Dennis "Brian" Orlando helped start the ASA Brooklyn Junior program, which has sent a lot of players to the Division I and NFL level including the likes of Badara Traore (LSU), Leon Brown (Alabama/Baltimore Ravens), and others. Coach Orlando's son was also the head coach at Valley Forge Prep School, which is a prep school known for producing players like Larry Fitzgerald (Pittsburgh/Arizona Cardinals) and Jeff Otah (Pittsburgh/Carolina Panthers). Throughout his long coaching career, Coach Dennis Orlando has established relationships with former LSU head coaches Nick Saban and Gerry DiNardo. Coach Orlando talks about his relationships with those two coaches and also tells the story about how he ended up bringing Mike Rozier's Heisman Trophy with him to an event.
