Dontrel Wilright is a tackle for Destrehan High School. He stands at 6’2.5” and is 260 pounds. This past season, he was awarded First Team All District. Wilright says his favorite memory from football is playing in the Superdome. “Even though I didn’t play much, it was a special experience I’ll never forget,” he says. Outside of sports, Wilright is a great student as well. He is able to maintain a 4.0 grade-point average and received a 25 ACT score. Additionally, he is a member of the National Honor Society, takes AP All-Honors courses, and is in the National Beta Club. When he isn’t in school or on the field, Wilright enjoys playing the PS4, working and lifting weights.

When it comes to football, Wilright says his biggest inspiration to keep going is his family, who he says has supported him since he was five years old. He states, “No matter what happens, they always have my back which is important to me.” He says his ultimate football dream is to catch a touchdown pass. “As a lineman, you rarely see other linemen score,” he says. Currently, Wilright is interested in Southern University and Texas Wesleyan University. He says he is looking for a that treats him like family and cares about him.

Aside from football, Wilright says his life plans are to get a degree, find a great paying job, as well as starting a family.
