Class of 2022 Recruit Spotlight: Port Allen High School RB/LB Jordan Antoine
by Andon Brabham
Leadership is a key that all coaches look for, but very few players possess the tools needed to achieve this role. The Port Allen Pelicans have found this in the form of senior RB/LB Jordan Antoine. Antoine led the team to a 6-5 record and a playoff appearance in 2021 tallying 711 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns on 113 carries as a running back, and 38 tackles with 9 tackles for loss as a linebacker.
Jordan says that the biggest strength in his game is his leadership and fearless style of play. He also compares his game to former LSU standout and current Kansas City Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu and former Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, citing their humble yet aggressive and prideful style of play.
Jordan’s style of play is also incredibly physical as well, with weightlifting stats of over 400 pounds on the squat, 275 on the bench, and 690 pounds on the hexbar deadlift. His leadership and physical style of play makes him dangerous for opposition.
Antoine also said that he looks to improve his speed and endurance to be able to stay on the field.
Jordan has received a scholarship offer from Louisiana , and has also received admission to Louisiana Tech and Louisiana-Lafayette. He plans to major in computer engineering wherever he attends. Outside of football, Antoine enjoys reading books, working to make money, and spending time with his family. One of his biggest aspirations is to play professional football and to “make a difference to the people around him”.

Andon Brabham, a senior at baton-rouge Magnet High School, is a freelance sports writer who spends most of his free time watching and analyzing players and their teams. Andon will watch just about any sport, but football, from high school to professional, is where his passion lies. As a lifelong Louisianan, born in Hammond, it should come as no surprise that Andon is a die-hard LSU and Saints fan, having spent many Saturdays in Death Valley; something every football fan should do at least once.
Andon is studying mass communications and has worked in both WBRH and KRBH radio stations as a student jockey. His skill in math, and with numbers, has drawn him into his love of statistical analysis of players and teams. Interesting pieces of data are his specialty. Living in Louisiana has amassed his love and passion for football across the state, and he stays abreast of the sports world with great intensity. Andon writes for Louisiana Football Magazine and is hoping to expand his credentials as he enters Louisiana State University next fall.
