Class of 2023 Recruit Spotlight: Avoyelles High School RB/LB Carlos Bazert Jr.

Avoyelles High School has an absolute unit running the ball for them. Carlos Bazert is the starting running back, and his frame is unique in the fact that he is 6’1 and weighing 250 pounds. These numbers at running back from a high school standpoint is crazy and you can see in his film just how much he utilizes his size when the ball is in his hands. This past season, Carlos ran for 886 yards on 90 carries and recording 8 touchdowns on offense. He also recorded 18 tackles within 7 games. His maxes are as followed: clean-265, squat-550, bench-305.

Carlos says his top 3 s are Alabama, LSU, and Oregon. When asked why he chose each school, his answers were straight to the point. Alabama because he grew up loving and admiring the team, LSU because he enjoys and loves the tradition as well as being at home in Louisiana. Lastly, Oregon: Carlos just really enjoys the uniforms, and I can’t blame him. Carlos says his love for football stems from the brotherhood that comes with playing football and how you can’t get that sense anywhere else.
