Class of 2023 Recruit Spotlight: Oberlin High School WR/OLB Noah Carter

Class of 2023 Recruit Spotlight: Oberlin High School WR/OLB Noah Carter

by Freety Parker

Noah Carter is a 6’4, 205 pound wide receiver and linebacker for Oberlin High School. Noah is a pivotal player on the team and plays both sides of the field in order to give his team the best chance to win. Last year with Oberlin, he recorded 480 receiving yards, 570 all purpose yards on the offensive side, and was an absolute force on the defensive side tallying 109 tackles and 4 interceptions. With a frame identical to NFL wide receiver A.J Green, big things are sure to come his way senior year.

Carter became interested in football at an early age when he was watching his cousins play and would always tell his mom and dad that he wanted to be just like them when he was older. Now, some of his best high school memories come from doing drills and 1 on 1s with his cousin Kristoff Brandon during the Tiger’s practices. Seeing his mom and dad smile while he’s on the field is what inspires him day in and day out, as well as showing his little cousins what hard work will do for them on and off the field. Carter is going into his senior year as a leader for the Tigers, and describes his role as a leader on the team as “helping out all of the younger kids and making sure to always keep a positive attitude even if the team is having a bad day and always challenge his teammates in the weight room and on the field”.

Carter’s favorite NFL player is Russell Wilson and describes the attitude that Wilson gives off as contagious and is something he is trying to duplicate. During the offseason, he has been living in the weight room working to improve his 185 pound bench press max and 315 pound max on the squat rack. If you think Carter wasn’t a force to be reckoned with last year, his senior season will prove you wrong. Making a name for himself and being a collegiate athlete is not far from reality. If he isn’t on your radar now, don’t wait until it is too late.

When Carter is not on the field, he enjoys hanging out with his friends and family, riding horses with his brother, and working out. Carter is currently interested in attending University of Louisiana Monroe, Southern Mississippi, Louisiana Tech, and University of Louisiana at Lafayette to further his academic and football career.
