Keegan Moten's last year of high school football ended in the best way possible with his team bringing home the Division II (Non-Select) championship against Cecilia High School with an ending score of 26-13. Opelousas came into playoffs at the 12th seed, beating both the 5th seed West Feliciana High School and 4th seed Lutcher High School to meet 2nd seed Cecilia in the finals.
"To play for my school the past season was amazing," said Moten "I developed even more, and on top of that we won state. "
Moten received offers from Louisiana Centenary College and Bethel College along with full-ride scholarships from Grambling State and Northwestern University. He will be attending Grambling State where he intends to continue playing football. He plans to major in biology.
"I really didn't plan on playing football." said Moten "I transferred to Opelousas for the biomedical program and to play basketball but when coach Zack saw me he said come to practice and everything went from there."
Moten's role on his team can not be understated. His ability to show up for his team when they need him is incredible.
"I want to say thank you to my parents, family, coaches and last but not least God because without them I would not be in the position I'm in today." Said Moten
