"I decided to sign with them because they treat you as family and not just as a person that plays football for them," said Duplessis "They care about you and look after your well-being, that means a lot to me."

Grambling State wasn't the only college looking to sign Duplessis. He received several offers, including ones from the University of Southern Mississippi and Langston University.

"I would like to continue to the next level because I want to become the second person in my family to be able to get to the NFL, " said Duplessis. "another motivation of mine is to have my degree so I can be successful in life and sharpen my skills and intangibles..."

Duplessis states that his brother has been a major help in his journey as they both played the same position and his brother went on to play in the NFL for the New Orleans Saints.

"I started playing when I was younger, around 6 years old, before then I didn't really know why I wanted to play football. " said Duplessis "Throughout the years though, I came to a conclusion that I need to use God's gifts that he gave me and become something special..."
