The 2019 Senior Class For The Holy Cross Tigers Has Flown Under The Radar, But Looks To Make A Splash At The Next Level

In 2018, the Holy Cross Tigers were able to improve on a 5-6 2017 record by going 7-4 in an extremely tough district in 2018. First year Head Coach Guy LeCompte and his staff were able to lean on this year’s senior class to help lead that improvement. This is a senior class that had lots of talent and will be missed in 2019.

“The guys that are leaving us this year mean a lot to the program,” said Tigers defensive coordinator Adam Giglio. “Many of those guys have been with us since 8th grade starting out in the weight room. They have definitely led by example on and off the field. We have had a lot of academic success with our senior class as well as athletic success. These guys have always represented our school, themselves, and their families with first class.”

These types of players are always hard to replace, but the coaching staff is excited to see what is in store for this year's seniors at the next level.

Some of the players that are included in this senior class are DE Dominic Lamm (6-1, 240), OG Jalen Womble (6-0, 260), OG/C Grant Jenny (6-3, 265), OG Austin Wehrlin (6-2, 280), DE David Barnes (6-3, 230), K/P Nolan Heitmeier (5-9, 155), SS Chase Rouzano (5-11, 175), FB Merlin Seminary (6-0, 225), DT Maurice Robichaux (6-0, 270), and DE Elias Brown (6-3, 230).

Louisiana Football Magazine’s own recruiting specialist Lee Brecheen speaks highly on this senior class.

“Lamm is probably a D-II guy that could go I-AA,” Brecheen said. “He’s extremely tough and quick.”

Lamm is currently committed to play football at Southeastern Louisiana University.

“The reason I committed to Southeastern was because of the love that all the coaches and players showed towards me,” Lamm said. “They really made me feel like I belonged there.”

Lamm is following in his father’s footsteps by playing football in . His father played football for Nicholls State.

Lamm’s favorite moment while at Holy Cross was a double overtime thriller against Archbishop Rummel High School where Holy Cross came out on top.

The rest of the players in this senior class have the ability to play at the I-AA, D-II, or D-III levels and eventually become starters before long.

This is a big senior class and they will be hard for Coach LeCompte to replace. Like many other years, the Tigers have lots of players waiting to come in and make their mark in 2019 and pick up where the 2019 seniors left off.

Cameron is from baton-rouge, LA. He graduated from Woodlawn High School in 2014. Cameron is now attending LSU where he is seeking a degree in Sport Administration with a concentration in commerce. Cameron joined the Louisiana Football Magazine staff in the summer of 2018 for his school internship. During the his days off, Cameron enjoys spending time with family and friends. Outside of being a football fan, Cameron also enjoys watching baseball and playing music.
