Breaux Bridge High School out of St. Martin Parish, Louisiana is home of the Tigers football team. The team is off to a real hot start with a 4-0 record including defeating the defending Class 3A champs Eunice High School this past week. This is starting to shape up to be a great year for the Tigers and we will see if they can keep it up.
I had a short talk with defensive end Trevonte Sylvester, and he was telling me about how the season has been going and what he expects for the rest of the season.
“I think our team this year has playmakers," Sylvester said. "We’re physical and have great coaching. We have a tough game this week against the Teurlings Catholic Rebels, but if we win this one, I think we’ve got a 10-0 record in our hands.”
To talk about how your team has playmakers and to praise your coaches is a great sign of a leader and I believe that is what Trevonte is to this team.

“I think we are going to be alright this season," Girod said. "We just gotta keep working everyday and stay humble.”
Short and sweet from the wideout, but also shows that he is humble. He will let his talking show on the field on Friday nights.
Lastly, Tyrese Martin is from St. Martinville, Louisiana, and is 5-9, 165 pounds. I talked to him a little bit about the team and he responded with quite the quote.
“I think my team is better than we have been in years," Martin said. "I think the rest of the season we have to remain focused and stay positive, and we could go undefeated."
Leadership is definitely something this Breaux Bridge team has this season. Along with leadership, they have character and drive. They have a goal they want to strive for and they will stop at nothing to achieve it. This team is going to be special the rest of the season and hopefully carry it into the playoffs and make a run at a Class 4A state title.
