Madison Prep Academy in baton-rouge, LA will be advancing into the quarterfinals this Friday, November 29th. Madison Prep has made incredible progress from an 8-8 record last season to a continuous 11-1 record this season. Madison Prep fans remember the last time they went to the state championship in 2016, so the pressure on the team is at an all time high.
Senior DT Marquese McKnight comments on the pressure the team endures, “One of the biggest expectations we face is bringing home a state championship. With 21 seniors and an immeasurable amount of talent, everyone expects nothing less than a state championship.”
There are numerous of reasons why the team has continued to be successful this season, but Knight and Senior FS Dai’Jon Franklin mention the coaches emphasis of discipline on the team as a key factor.
Senior WR Maleak Palmer adds that “All through the summer, the receivers and I have been building a strong relationship with our quarterback Zeon Chriss, which makes us even more dangerous to stop. “
Franklin gives recognition the entire team as well.
"Our O-line and D-line is stepping up as a whole and the offense moves the ball very good," Franklin said, "Our defense also stops anything that moves as well.”
Knight gives us a positive quote on the greatest lesson he has learned from football.
“No matter how you feel, whether you want to do it or not, do it because you're committed to it," Knight said.
