The Parkway Panthers Continue Producing Next Level Players Under Coy Brotherton
by Trent Schachter
Thanks to the guidance and football prowess of Head Coach Coy Brotherton and his coaching staff, every year, the Parkway Panthers football team has high caliber athletes take the next step after graduating and continue their promising football careers at the collegiate level.
Even in a year with so many obstacles, the results remain the same at Parkway High School. Next season, defensive lineman Trenton Defatta, linebacker Connor Norcross and wide receiver Brady Norcross will be suiting up at the next level. Defatta will be playing for Henderson State and the Norcross cousins will be playing at Southern Arkansas.
I had the chance to speak with Parkway Head Coach Coy Brotherton and he shared, “all three of these men are Academic All-State.” and reiterated that “they set the standard at not only athletics, but academics”. It is not an easy task balancing athletics and academics, and this achievement says a lot about these young men and their character.
Coach Brotherton also shared that all three of these young men “are good leaders and great people”. He praised their work ethic, and poise out on the field adding, “the team could look at them and depend on them”. It is clear that these men are going to provide a lot to their new programs and have some very bright futures ahead of them.
