The Sports Scouting Report Podcast With Lee Brecheen Episode 131: Church Point High School Head Football Coach John Craig Arceneaux

by Jace LeJeune

For Monday's episode of the Sports Scouting Report Podcast With Lee Brecheen, Lee catches up with Church Point High School head football coach John Craig Arceneaux, who talks about the program's tremendous season defeating defending Class 3A State Champion St. James Wildcats in the Quarterfinals before losing to the eventual Class 3A State Champion Madison Prep Academy Chargers in the Semifinals. Coach Arceneaux also talks about the negative trends in recruiting caused by COVID-19 including DI programs heavily relying on the transfer portal rather than signing prospects out of high school, his talented seniors that are still looking for scholarships, and finally, tells some stories about former LSU All-American wide receiver Josh Reed when he was an All-State running back at Rayne High School. To wrap up the show, Lee recaps Nicholls State Football's mind blowing 87-3 victory over Lincoln-Missouri and gives some recruiting updates on some of the best players in state for the 2022 class including Istrouma running back Le'veon Moss along with West St. John linebacker Kailep Edwards.
